AARDVARKS

I have always been disgusted by rats
This is not an uncommon condition for a person

I thought of rats as the disease
Not susceptible to it

But then I saw a rat with an inflamed asshole and thought
There must be something wrong with that rat
It must have a disease

I am not disgusted with aardvarks
Why rats?
Rats are just little aardvarks

Then two very playful rats chased one another through a puddle
Bounding and leaping like Aardvarks

Then I wrote this poem
probably cutting short my enjoyment
of the whole thing
